It was an early flight to Liberia, Costa Rica the morning after our wedding but we made it safely! I love that the customs and immigration building is a hangar with huge ceiling fans.
I took my extended family to my favorite restaurant with an identitiy crisis. Is it Mexican? Tex-Mex? Southern? Either way, it was great to see aunts, uncles, and cousins before the weekend gets really busy.
Manoj and I drove out to Jonesboro to visit Matt, Lindsay, and Emily on a surprisingly dry Fourth. Check out that good-looking family!
Our awesome friends threw us an engagement party / wedding shower / taco dinner and it was nothing short of brilliant. Thank you to Caroline, Manoj, Mike, Drew, Katie, Kate, Elizabeth, and Margaret for a fantastic party!
There were actually places open for the 4:30 am match between the Netherlands and Denmark. And we were actually crazy enough to get up and watch the game there.
Nels made reservations for us at Le Pigeon for Sunday evening. It's a very small restaurant with an open kitchen and everything we ate was fabulous. This is a picture of my lamb tounge appetizer.
We watched the USA-England game at the Rogue Ale House on Pier 39 in Astoria. We practically had the place to ourselves and the beer was absolutely delicious. The weather and the result combined to make for a great start to the day.
The annual Peachtree Presbyterian young adult beach retreat was a blast again this year. One of the highlights of the weekend was this covert trip to Dairy Queen with Steven, Carrie, and Mary Frances.
